Enroll in a forward-looking program: prepare for a career as a biotechnology laboratory technician with a professional bachelor's degree focused on innovation and cutting-edge technologies in an environment of excellence, with extensive professional immersion and personalized support.
The Professional Bachelor's Degree prepares students for careers as senior laboratory technicians and assistant engineers in the dynamic biotechnology sectors: health, pharmaceuticals, agri-food, and environment. The goal? Rapid and successful entry into the workforce, thanks to practical, targeted training in line with the needs of companies and laboratories in the sector.
Students with a clear career plan can also consider continuing their studies in a Master's program or engineering school.
In their second year (LP2), students become apprentices. They strengthen a solid foundation of knowledge in biology/biotechnology while developing their professional skills at university and in the laboratory as part of their apprenticeship contract. Each student receives personalized support, promoting their success.
Informations
Skills
At the end of the LP2, students will be able :
- to build an experimental protocol within the framework of a scientific approach in biotechnology
- to carry out an experimental protocol and analyse the results
- work in a professional environment
Objectives
The objective is to train students for the professions of assistant engineer and senior laboratory technician, in different sectors of biology. To fulfill their missions, graduates must have acquired solid knowledge in the fundamental disciplines of biology. In addition, cross-disciplinary courses must allow them to integrate the world of work in the best conditions. In continuity with the first year of the Professional Bachelor’s degree, in LP2, students will follow courses in fundamental and applied biology, bio-production and quality control, supplemented by courses in chemistry applied to biology in order to acquire a solid training for the third year (LP3). The cross-disciplinary courses (english, scientific methodology, statistics, oral and written communications, knowledge of business and bio-industries) will give the student the opportunity to build and refine their personal and professional project (PPP). The long apprenticeship period (8 months) will also allow the student to acquire professional experience and skills which will facilitate their continuation in LP3 and their professional integration.

Target Audience and Entry Requirements
LP2 is aimed at students who have completed a first year (60 ECTS) of a degree in biology, who are motivated by biology/biotechnology and ready to invest in professional training leading to a Bac+3 qualification. A set of general, scientific, and technical skills is desirable to promote success in the program. It is not necessary to have mastered all of these skills at the start of the program, but candidates must demonstrate a motivation to develop them throughout the course:
• Gradually adopt a professional attitude suited to the demands of academia and the business world
• get involved, organize, and manage your work independently
• Work in a team and integrate into collaborative projects
• Demonstrate curiosity, rigor, perseverance, and practical sense
• Show an interest in experimental work
• Communicate clearly and appropriately, both in writing and orally, in French
• Have a basic scientific background in biology, chemistry, and mathematics
• Be able to apply knowledge to solve problems
